Rehab is a War Zone
Health care in the USA is a color picture built around a sales campaign. A "feeling of security" concept being stimulated by someone selling you something to protect you from what you now fear. As our american population lives longer the rehab demands made upon our nations limited number of physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists and legions of nurses becomes even more unmeetable.
There are many lessons to be learned. Prevention is the key. Start today loved ones and treat yourself in a loving fashion. If you cannot do that at least put down on paper your wishes as to a feeding tube and other types of life sustaining procedures. Today hundreds of thousands of americans are in bed with a call button clipped to the sheet, a TV up on the middle of the wall and that is it. That is the "health care". The diaper, the bed, the call button and the water pitcher....that is the health care.
Loving acts for yourself and others is the path to true health care.
Civic volunteerism specifically targeting prevention is a most spiritual way. Hey give it a try...have a fresh fruit smoothie and bring healing foods to a loved one who is homebound or in a skilled nursing facility.
